Welcome to Evergreen

The Evergreen Health Insurance Program can pay medical insurance premiums for eligible Washington State residents, enabling them to maintain access to vital health care. To be eligible for Evergreen, you must first enroll in Washington State Department of Health’s HIV Client Services, Early Intervention Program (EIP).

This website has information about the program and how to apply if you are eligible for Evergreen Health Insurance Program (EHIP). There is also information about insurance and HIV resources, which may be useful whether or not you are eligible for Evergreen. What is the Affordable Care Act?

The Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as Obamacare, is a bill that was passed by Congress and signed into law in March of 2010.  Before, Americans did not need to have health insurance.  With the passing of this law, almost every person living in the United States will have to have health insurance.  This will begin on January 1st, 2014.
